The Maschinenfabrik Gustav Pollert Schneidenmühl (now in Poland) was among Europe's leading manufacturers of potato processing equipment before 1939. The company produced manual and motorized sorters, washers, conveyors, and loaders, and flourished during the 1930s. After the war, H. Köhler tried to restart production in Kiel but failed, and the brand vanished by 1950. This Ago 50 S was one of the company's smaller, more affordable manual sorters. It separated potatoes by size using a rotating drum that functioned as a sieve, sorting them into three different categories.
