Thomas Lyngby – Independent Historian, External Lecturer at the Saxo Institute, University of Copenhagen, Denmark
Thomas Lyngby holds a PhD in History (2006) and has been a Senior Researcher since 2009.
He currently serves as an Associate Lecturer at the Saxo Institute (since 2025) and a Visiting Scholar at the Centre for Privacy Studies (since 2024), both at the University of Copenhagen.
His work is highly interdisciplinary, utilizing approaches from cultural history, art history, and anthropology to author several books and articles on Danish and European history from 1500 to 1900.
His research covers a wide range of subjects, including architectural history, the history of everyday life, court studies, portraiture, and national identity.
Furthermore, he has extensive experience in the museum sector, having worked at the Museum of National History at Frederiksborg (2006–23) and the Museum at Sonderburg Castle (2000–03), where he organized numerous exhibitions both in Denmark and abroad.
