Viticulture Sub-Collection

History of the Sub-Collection

This sub-collection was created by a transfer of items from the Kačina branch of the National Museum of Agriculture and by the museum’s own collecting activities which took place since the establishment of the Valtice branch of the National Museum of Agriculture. Its most important items are old wooden wine presses, which are also among the oldest items kept in the Valtice branch of the museum. The Valtice branch has in its collection 6 screw presses and 1 beam press, which was, however, used for pressing apples.
