Markéta Slavková is externalist at the Institute of Ethnology and Central European and Balkan Studies, Faculty of Arts, Charles University, Prague, Czech Republica.
Markéta Slavková is sociocultural anthropologist with a specialisation in anthropology and history of food.
She finished doctoral studies at Charles University and then worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Comenius University in Bratislava and the Institute of Ethnology, Czech Academy of Sciences.
In her research, she specialises in the problematics of everyday eating practices in the context of social change (namely war) and, last but not least, the historical development of eating practices and specific dishes.
She also attended Ivan Day’s course on historical sugar sculpture.
