NZM Valtice
Museum of Vine-growing, Gardening, and Environment
The building of the Museum is situated in Valtice square. As a part of the complex of buildings used for the Chateau’s economic management of the Liechtenstein estates from the second half of the 17th century, it was reconstructed into the present state at the end of the 19th century. The National Museum of Agriculture acquired the object in 1988.
The Museum is situated in the South Moravian Region, 10 km straight line west of the town of Břeclav, in the tourist-friendly attractive area near the Lednice-Valtice district.
Exhibitions
Developmet of vegetable and fruit growing
The exhibition presents the development of vegetable and fruit growing from the Middle Ages till the modern large-scale production.
Historical vine-growing presses and implements
The exhibition deals with the history of vine growing and processing, and also presents, besides others, historical vine-growing presses and implements.
Birds of the Lednice-Valtice District
Interactive acquaintance with the representatives of the empire of birds living in the Lednice-Valtice District.
Museum miniarboretum, balcony flowers and summer plants
In the museum’s courtyard, the exhibition is supplemented in the season with summer plants and balcony flowers.
Events
The NMA Valtice organizes short-term exhibitions, prepares accompanying and education programmes for children and students.
Services
Upon a prior agreement, the Museum also offers extra-season inspections; groups of those interested are offered guided inspections.
The Museum also rents spaces for social and company events.
